The internationally renowned Michelangelo String Quartet is made up of four
outstanding artists:
Mihaela Martin (violin), Stephan Picard (violin), Nobuko
Imai (viola), Frans Helmerson (violoncello).
With the aim of providing the
next generation with access to their skills, the members of the quartet have
decided to offer master classes to about twenty of the most promising young
musicians. The courses will take place at the Hindemith Music Centre in Blonay
from 1 to 8 October 2011 and will finish with a concert in Geneva. It,
therefore, seems only natural that the master classes be named after Lake Léman.
The musicians are being supported by an association founded by Professor Pierre
Tercier (Fribourg), Monsieur le Bâtonnier Benoît Chappuis (Geneva) and Maître
Fabian von Schlabrendorff (Frankfurt). This initiative deserves the best
possible support and we would like to invite music lovers interested in offering
promising young musicians access to a first-class professional education to
become a member of the association which is organising the Lac Léman Music
Masterclasses (Quatuor Michelangelo).
